Mareo Migrante

Mareo Migrante [MM] is an interdisciplinary performance by comadres.con.alambres, formed by María Castro (Bogotá, Colombia) and Pilar Alejandra Navarro (Santiago, Chile). The collective emerges from a shared diasporic experience within the so-called "northern hegemonic" context, combining artistic, aesthetic, and activist perspectives rooted in Latin American migration and collaborative creation. From this encounter, both artists began developing joint works focused on horizontal artistic practices and critical approaches to creativity, visibility, and diaspora.

Mareo Migrante is a dance-improvisation and electroacoustic music performance that explores expanded forms of sensoriality and expression through the feedback between sonic gesture and physical movement. Using interactive systems and motion-based technologies, the piece generates electroacoustic sound from the performer's movement in real time, while simultaneously allowing sound to shape choreographic responses in real time.

The work reflects on the embodied experience of migration from South America to Europe, translating it into unstable, shifting perceptual states that highlight disorientation, tension, and transformation as core elements of both movement and sound.
